Update: 2:00pm

The Owasso Police Department has released the following update on this mornings fatal car accident

This incident will remain under investigation while the evidence is processed and witnesses are interviewed.  An official cause of the accident will not be released until the accident reconstructionist has completed the reports, which may take several days or weeks.  Early indicators suggest that distracted driving may have contributed to this accident.  Specifically, one of the drivers was allegedly distracted, did not see that traffic had slowed ahead due to congestion on US 169 and reportedly stuck the other vehicles in its path.

The names of the involved parties are not being released at this time.  I don’t anticipate any additional releases of information today.
