Question:
What’s the difference between a yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis?
Answer:
Both Candida (common yeast) and Gardnerella (cause of bacterial vaginosis, or BV) are natural inhabitants of the vagina. Infections are caused by overgrowth of the offending agent. BV cannot be treated with OTC medications and requires an antibiotic prescribed by your doctor.
