OWASSO, Okla. – Whataburger Restaurants, known for custom-made, always-fresh burgers, will host a “Bring the Heat” jalapeño-eating contest in support of Owasso Mid-High on Friday, March 13 at 1:30 p.m. at 8800 N. 129th E. Ave.
Whataburger will welcome Owasso Mid-High School faculty to face off in a battle of heat resistance for a good cause. Four teachers from each grade will compete against one another to see who can consume the most jalapeños in 60 seconds. The winning team will earn the honor of making a $500 donation to the school. Following the event, Whataburger will also host an Oh Whata Night fundraiser where 20% of sales will be donated to the school from 3 to 6 p.m.
“Jalapeños are a signature topping at Whataburger, and we’re thrilled to spice things up with a fair, spirited competition that provides Owasso Mid-High faculty a unique way to help invest in their school,” said Whataburger Director of Operations Scott Phillips. “We wish both teams the best of luck in this brief, yet intense, contest and we’ll be ready to serve them with a large, cold beverage as soon as it’s over!”
Family-owned Whataburger has proudly served its famous burgers in Central Texas since 1964 and continues to deliver fresh, made-to-order meals every day with extraordinary customer service.
