RCS students to host Chick-fil-A Spirit Night, learn to serve on March 10
On Tuesday, March 10, Rejoice Christian Schools’ fifth-grade students will learn how to serve others via a special Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A in Owasso, 12015 E. 96th St. N. From 5-8 p.m., RCS fifth-grade students will have the chance to serve others while raising funds for their school at Chick-fil-A.
RCS fifth-grade teachers are looking forward for this Chick-fil-A Spirit Night to be more than a fundraiser. In fact, teachers are hoping students learn hospitality while serving hungry guests. To prepare for the event, students will be taught how to properly greet guests, how to maintain eye contact when speaking, and how to use a strong confident voice when communicating, said RCS Elementary Counselor Raina Foote.
“For us, this is not about a fundraiser,” Foote said. “This gives our students a hands-on experience in servanthood, hospitality and fun fellowship. This event will help give our students some very valuable communication tools they can build upon. It provides an opportunity for students to stretch themselves in areas they may not feel comfortable. God calls us to serve and sometimes that means stepping outside of our comfort zone.”
Plus, the students are excited about the event, and they’ll be working in shifts. Some students will even have the opportunity to be the Chick-fil-A mascot. The RCS fifth-grade student council will receive 10 percent of the sales at the Owasso Chick-fil-A between 5-8 p.m. on March 10.
