Question:
What’s the best way to help with morning sickness?
Answer:
Morning sickness and nausea/vomiting are typically “blamed” on the human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) hormone level that rises during the early portion of pregnancy. It typically peaks at 10 weeks then decreases, so you should see your symptoms decrease during the second trimester.
There are many common remedies for this including eating a dry cracker prior to getting out of bed to calm your stomach. Ginger can also help. You could wear an accu-band that affects a pressure point on the inner side of your wrist to help reduce your symptoms. There are also several over-the-counter (OTC) medicines that can help including Dramamine, Unisom and vitamin B6. Finally, if your symptoms persist, please call us so you can make an appointment and get a prescription.
