A few things about our dad. He was born March 18, 1941. He was a country boy, born and raised on a farm. He was the fourth of six boys born to my grandparents. Bless our grandma’s heart. He graduated from Labelle County high school in 1958, and joined the Marines shortly after at the age of 17. He was stationed in California in 1963, when he met the love of his life, Mary North. They married after three short months, and were married for 52 years. They have three daughters Nancy, Tracey, and Barbara. As if that wasn’t enough, they have also raised four grandchildren as their own. Ciera, Sam, Cherokee, and JP. They at various times have helped take care of all their grandchildren for one reason or another. This includes Matt, Patrick, Anna, Trevor, Trey, Rhonda and Logan. He has two great grandsons, Kyler and Kysen, that are going to miss him like crazy. The man had an amazing work ethic. He was a proud Marine for 20 years, before retiring and moving his family to Owasso. He also had a 20+ year career with PSO. He served in Vietnam, moved his family from coast to coast and overseas. He taught us to always be early, it looks better than being late. He taught us real men do cry, that even if he wasn’t always there that he loved us. He lived with four hormonal females at any one time, and dealt with it like a trooper. God bless him. He loved his family. He loved his dog wild mike. He was an amazing man, who never let us know how sick he was because he was worried about his wife, who is battling cancer. If he hadn’t have fallen at home, we would never have known. He did not feel as if he was as important as she was. He was, and his loss is a great big hole that has swallowed us at this point. We will pull through, because that is what he would have wanted. Knowing he is at peace and well helps, but doesn’t heal. He joins his grandsons Brett, Kevin, Daniel and Matt in passing. Also his parents and his brothers, Eldon, David and Dale. We love you daddy, and our hearts break at losing you and the light you brought to this world.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Collinsville Christian Church (1825 W Union Pl) with Mr. Patrick M. Prodger and Rev. Bob Haywood officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home, (918) 371-2111.
