Owasso Red Third Grade Football are learning life lessons at an early age. Below is a message I received earlier. Let them know you care when you see them in the parade Thursday!
“To whom it may concern.
I’ve never written one of these before so please bare with me as it is hard to do so for different reasons. Let me introduce who I am. My name is Dustin Baldwin. I am one of the football coaches for Owasso Red 3rd grade football team. One of our quarterbacks little brother “Major” had a terrible accident last night. He pulled a boiling pot of hot water on to of himself resulting in second and third degree burns over 20-30% of his body. One of the parents on the team is Amanda Philpot our 911 dispatcher is whom took the call when it came in. She let us know that he was air lifted to the Galveston burn center where he is receiving treatments and will undergo surgery.
The reason I’m sending this message is we are trying to get the message out that this close family of ours needs our help with donations. The family has setup a gofundme account which I will attach at the bottom of this email. Our team will also have a float in the homecoming parade tomorrow with posters I support for Major. We are using the hashtag #pray4major. We as a team and actually the whole football community are banning together to try and reach the goal and break it that has been set by the family for their expenses. So please if you could help us in any certain way possible we would greatly appreciate it. They are splitting the time between both parents cause their oldest is a sophomore along with the other two kids in our schools as well. Again thank you for your time and here is the link.”
