Roy Carl Chartier, II, resident of Owasso, passed from this life on Monday evening, March 21, 2016 at his home. He was 58 years of age. Roy was born March 10, 1958 in Tulsa, OK to Roy Carl and Judy (Capps) Chartier. He was raised and received his education in Tulsa. On June 15, 1979, Roy and Glenda May Krebs were united in marriage in the Free Will Baptist Church in Tulsa. Following their marriage, they made their home in Sand Springs and later Claremore, OK. Since 1998, they have made their home in Owasso. Roy worked as a commercial roofer, currently with Harness Roofing. Even though he was raised Baptist, Roy converted to Catholicism thirteen years ago. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, playing poker and was and accomplished artist.
Those that survive include his wife Glenda; children Roy Carl Chartier, III and wife Amber of Glendale, Arizona, Christina Chartier of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren – Alex, Kimberly, Olivia, Clara and Sophie; and his parents Roy Carl and Judy Chartier of Tulsa. Also surviving are a brother Rodney Chartier and wife Karen of Catoosa, OK; a sister Deedee Turley of Mannford, OK and other relatives and friends. Roy was preceded in death by a brother Rex Chartier, his grandmother Capps and grandparents Chartier.
Visitation for Roy will be from 4pm – 8pm with a rosary held at 6:00 pm on Thursday evening, March 24th in the chapel of Mowery Funeral Service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 25, 2016 also in the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Father Matt LaChance of Saint Henry Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery, Owasso.
