The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is reporting a personal injury collision occurred on April 18, 2016 at approximately 1:11pm on SH20 approximately 120 feet west of NS4120, one mile west of Claremore, in Rogers County.
2009 Toyota Corolla, driven by Christopher Dawson, age 20, of Collinsville, was eastbound on SH20, traveling behind traffic that was stopping to turn at NS4120 but did not stop. Dawson struck the rear end of a 2005 Jeep Liberty, driven by Gail Snyder, age 52 of Collinsville. Snyder was not injured.
A 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Dane Rudeen, age 26, Edmond, Ok was westbound on SH20. After striking Snyder, Dawson went eastbound into the westbound lane and struck Rudeen head one. Dawson was pinned for approximately 18 minutes and extricated by Claremore Fire Department. He was transported to St. John Hospital in Tulsa where he was admitted in serious condition with head, trunk external, internal and limb injuries. Rudeen refused treatment at scene.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
Seatbelts were equipped in all, in use by everyone except Dawson.
