Anita Mae Megehee was born September 16, 1929 in Macomb, Oklahoma to John and Clara Alva (Lee) Klinglesmith. She died November 26, 2016, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 87 years. Anita graduated with the Tribbey High School Class of 1948 in Tribbey, Oklahoma. She was married March 30, 1949 in Macomb, Oklahoma to Wayland Lavoy Megehee. Anita spent the first 20 years of her marriage working around the home and in 1970 graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She spent most of her nursing career at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Anita attended Skelly Drive Baptist Church in Tulsa. She had a variety of pastimes and enjoyed writhing poetry, reading, crocheting projects, and keeping a clean house.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and Sister, Helen Smith.
Graveside Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1, at Tecumseh Cemetery in Shawnee, Oklahoma with Charles Harris officiating. Serving as honorary casket bearers will be Greg Williams, Clay Williams, Nick Williams, Brian Megehee, Kevin Megehee, Matthew Austin, Jeffrey Austin, and Staci Emerson. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Anita’s memory to the John 3:16 Mission fund, P.O. Box 1477, Tulsa, OK 74101 or a charity of your choice. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
