Shirley Jean (Wadsworth) Hogue was born July 27, 1940, in Catoosa, Oklahoma, to Leo Russell and Mildred Mary Berry Wadsworth. She went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, March 31, 2017, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 76 years. Shirley was reared and educated in Catoosa, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Catoosa High School Class of 1958 and was class Valedictorian. She was married May 22, 1958 in Catoosa to Donald Hogue. She and Don were longtime faithful members of Catoosa Assembly of God where she taught Bible class and was always involved in church ministry. She spent much of her life as a homemaker, but was also influential in the lives of many young people as a teacher with Catoosa Christian Academy. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including canning and planning meals along with her reputation as being an excellent cook. She loved being in the outdoors working in the yard and gardening. Special blessings in her life were her family, especially her grandchildren, and made them each feel as though they were her favorite.

Sister; Freda Tipton and her husband Gerald, of Catoosa, Oklahoma
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Donnie Hogue, and great granddaughter, Jentri Drain.
Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at the Catoosa First Baptist Church with Pastor Donald Hogue, Jr. and Pastor James Brown officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Jamie Brown, Devin Hogue, Adam Markou, Jared Drain, Robert Kayanja, Jr., Heath Wadsworth, Vance Tipton, and Darin Presley. Committal service and interment will follow at Wofford Cemetery in Catoosa, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Shirley’s memory to African Missions Fund, P.O.
