Donald Francis Robertson Sr., passed away on January 19, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 9, 1935, in Worcester, Massachusetts to Percival L. Robertson and Florence A. (Tatman) Robertson. First Congregational Church is where he could be found during many evenings, participating in the youth group. He even met his future wife at church when he was twelve. Donald was reared and educated in Worcester and graduated with the Commerce High School Class of 1953. After high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served his country honorably. He was married September 22, 1962 at First Congregational Church in Worcester to Betty Lou (Ware) Robertson. Donald worked for GM Motors as a security guard for many years. He helped operate Robertson’s Grocery and Luncheonette for several years. Donald was a manager at Friendly’s Ice Cream and Swensen’s Ice Cream. In 1976, Donald moved the family to Tulsa, Oklahoma. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes such as watching the Boston Celtics, supporting his beloved New England Patriots, attending the University of Tulsa Hurricane football games, and bowling with Betty Lou. He has spent the past 20 years as a faithful member at Ascension Lutheran Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

His Wife of 55 years, Betty Lou Robertson, of Tulsa, a son, Donald Robertson Jr., of Newalla, Oklahoma, two daughters; Wendy Dallenbach and husband Todd, of Owasso and Marsha Bridges and husband Ken, of Odessa, Texas. Donald leaves 8 grandchildren and a new great grandson. He also is survived by a brother, Robert Robertson and wife Donna, of Leicester, Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Percival and Florence, 2 brothers, Arnold and Gordon, and 2 sisters, Judith and Jean.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2018, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2018, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Reverend Leonard Pirtle officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made in Donald’s memory to Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090, or Cancer Treatment Centers of America, 10109 E. 79th St., Tulsa, OK 74133. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service.
