Edgar “Bill” Augustus Gideon was born August 19, 1925 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to George Robert Gideon and Trixie Elizabeth (Jones) Gideon. He passed from this life on Sunday, October 21, 2018, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 93 years. Bill was raised and educated in Avant, Oklahoma and graduated with the Avant High School Class of 1943. After high school he earned his bachelor’s degree in education at Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. He bought Ren-Cin grocery store in Tulsa where he was working when he saw Eula Mae at the laundry mat across the street. Bill was married on May 4, 1957 in Tulsa to Eula Mae (Welch) Gideon. He taught business math at Sperry High School for a few years but spent most of his working life as a Maintenance Supervisor, working for Tulsa County at O’Brien Park for about 25 years. Bill and Eula Mae have made Owasso their home since 1970. He had a variety of past times such as wood working, gardening, listening to country music, but most of all he loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Trixie, 5 sisters, Lucille, Geraldine, Mildred, Helen, and Marjorie, and 2 brothers, Jack and Donnie.
Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Mowery Funeral Service. Graveside Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, Oklahoma with Pastor Bill Bowman officiating. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
