Violet DeLoyce Casey was born March 15, 1936, in Spavinaw, Oklahoma, to Henry and Tressie Althea Reed Johnson. She died Sunday, November 15, 2020, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years. Violet completed her secondary education in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was a graduate of Will Rogers High School. She was married August 12, 1955, in Tulsa to Roy Thomas Casey. She spent much of her working life as a homemaker and caring for her family. She also served as a ministers wife to her husband, Pastor Tom Casey. Violet had also spent time working at the University of Tulsa. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including sewing, cross-stitching, and working jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed going fishing off the dock at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Texas. She especially enjoyed her role of “Grandma Violet” to her grandchildren.

Betty Mattison, of Bixby, Oklahoma
Ramona Turner, of Modesto, California
Thea Nichols, of Waxahachie, Texas
Two brothers; Harvey Johnson and wife Norma, of California
Alvin Johnson, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma
And a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Tom, daughter, Susan Kingsley, grandson, Kyle Kingsley, and sister, Rhea Smotts.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with minister Clayton Haggard officiating. Final resting place will be next to her husband at Washington Cemetery, in rural Claremore, Oklahoma. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
