Jack Franklin Kerr, 94, of Collinsville, OK, entered his forever home on December 22, 2020. Jack was born on May 15, 1926, in Muskogee, OK, to Simpson Bennett and Sophia (Gott) Kerr. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Bennett Kerr, and his sister Frances Sutton.
At the age of 18, Jack enlisted in the Navy during WWII. He achieved the rank of Yeoman Second Class, and served in the South Pacific on the USS Riverside. After the war, Jack studied Business at Oklahoma A&M.
In 1954, Jack was the assistant manager at Guaranty Laundry and Dry Cleaning in Tulsa, OK. It was there he hired Vada Tatum, not knowing she would be his future bride! Jack and Vada were married on April 6, 1957. They made their home in Tulsa, where Jack retired as a Petroleum Landman with C.A. Palmer Oil and Gas Leasing.
Over the years, Jack was a member of the Sertoma Club of Muskogee and the Tulsa Executive Club. He also served as a deacon at Highland Park Christian Church, and was a current member of First Baptist Church of Owasso.
Anyone who knew Jack knew his favorite pastime was fishing! Outside of spending time with his family, his best days were spent on the water with a rod and reel. We are left with precious memories of how he was a “fisher of men,” in more ways than one. We rejoice in the fact that Jack knew Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and we know we will see him again.
Jack is survived by his wife of 63 years, daughter and son-in-law Jamie and Rick Fleenor of Collinsville, OK, granddaughter Maggie Fleenor of Allen, TX, and grandson Payton Fleenor of Owasso, OK.
