04/30/2021 – On Friday, April 30th Owasso Police responded to a domestic report. It was reported that an employee of the Owasso High School had received a threat of violence from a family member.
Out of an overabundance of caution, the school conducted a perimeter lockout. Owasso Police tightened security around the school to ensure the safety of all the students and employees. Owasso and Bixby Police launched an investigation into the validity of the situation, as the suspect currently resides in Bixby, OK.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the alleged threats did not rise to the level of criminal prosecution. Once it was confirmed that all of the elements of the situation were not a threat to our students and school employees the lockout was released.
Owasso Police will remain at the school throughout the day to ensure a safe environment.
