Fishing Report for December 8, 2021

Edwards Park Pond: Elevation below normal, water low 50s and slightly stained. Rainbow trout good on PowerBait and spoons in coves and along shorelines. Two hundred rainbow trout were stocked on December 1, with the next stocking scheduled for December 16 (note: stockings are subject to change, fish could be stocked days earlier or later depending on the delivering vendor). Fishing will improve as additional stockings increase the number of trout per acre, but the first batch of fish are active and biting. Powerbait fished 1-2 feet off the bottom has shown the most production in the coves between the fishing piers. 1/16th – 1/8th ounce Kastmaster spoons and Little Cleo spoons in silver or gold with orange or chartreuse stripe have also been effective along the shorelines when fished with a slow steady retrieve and an occasional quick upward rod lift. Largemouth bass slow on jigs and rogues around brush structure and docks. Blue and channel catfish good on live shad and shad along creek channels and river channel. Greenleaf: December 5. Elevation normal, water 50s with 1 ft. of visibility. Crappie and bluegill fair on grubs, in-line spinnerbaits, minnows, PowerBait, small lures and worms around docks and points. Largemouth bass slow on bill baits, crankbaits, jerk baits, lipless baits, live bait, minnows, plastic baits, small lures, spinnerbaits and worms in coves, docks, points and shorelines. Blue and channel catfish slow on chicken liver, cut bait, dough bait, hot dogs, live shad, shad, shrimp and worms around docks, flats and points. Rainbow trout fair on in-line spinnerbaits, midges, PowerBait and spoons below the dam and Watts area. Best times are during periods of low or no flow from the dam. Sooner: November 5. Elevation normal, water 50s and murky. Striped bass hybrids slow on jigs and live shad in the discharge and main lake. Saugeye slow on crankbaits, jigs and live shad in the discharge and main lake. Largemouth bass slow on live shad and plastic baits around brush structure, main lake and weed beds. Arbuckle: December 5. Elevation 2 ft. below normal, water 53 and stained. Konawa: December 5. Elevation normal, water 54 and clear. Largemouth bass fair on Alabama rigs, crankbaits and plastic baits in the main lake, around points, river channel and weed beds. Striped bass hybrids and white bass fair on Alabama rigs, crankbaits and live shad in coves, discharge and river channel. Channel catfish fair on chicken liver, discharge and river channel. Fishing this week has been good. Striped bass good on flukes, live shad, plastic baits, sassy shad and slabs below the dam, along channels, flats, main lake, points and river channel. Striper fishing has been very good this week. Dead sticking has been great this week for stripers. Blue, channel and flathead catfish fair on cut bait, dough bait, goldfish, live shad, punch bait, stinkbait and sunfish below the dam, along channels, coves, creek channels, docks, main lake, points and river channel. Blue cats are being caught on juglines and rod-and-reel on live shad and punch bait pretty well in 20-45 ft. of water. Crappie fair on hair jigs, jigs, minnows and small lures around brush structure, coves, docks and standing timber. Crappie are biting on jigs with PowerBait. It is getting better every week.
