W J Warner “Buzz” Hopkins was born August 5, 1947, in Cherokee, Oklahoma, to Jauleel Ray and Grace Lee (Hadden) Hopkins. He died Saturday, June 29, 2013, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 65 years. He graduated with the Enid High School Class of 1966. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Air Force. He was married June 3, 1972, in Owasso, Oklahoma, to Mary Lee McCracken. In 1973 he graduated from Okmulgee Technical Institute studying automotive mechanics. Warner worked several jobs during his lifetime beginning at Mill Creek Lumber in 1973, then with Canteen Vending in 1977, before joining the Tulsa World in 1993 delivering ad copy. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including reading, traveling, quoting quotes, and listening to music. He also enjoyed military history, especially relating to World War II. He was an avid Route 66 fan, not only in traveling the road but the television series as well. Warner was a kind heart who was friends with everyone.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Boys Ranch Town-Edmond, 3800 North May Avenue, Oklahoma, City, Oklahoma, 73112. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
