Perry Parker, resident of Owasso, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the St. John Owasso Hospital, one day after his 91st birthday. He was born June 22, 1922 at Knowles, Oklahoma to Frank and Lydia Martha (Whitaker) Parker. Perry was raised and received his education at Knowles. On January 15, 1942 Perry was united in marriage to Pansy Louise Husted at Knowles. In December of 1942, he enlisted in the US Army, serving with the 335th Infantry, 84th Division until December of 1945. Perry and Pansy made their home at Knowles until moving to Liberal, Kansas where he worked for Beechcraft. They were later transferred to Colorado with Beechcraft and he then gained employment as a painter. Eventually, they moved to Indiana where he worked in the steel mills until coming to Owasso in 1979. Perry was a member and served as a deacon in the old Central Baptist Church of Owasso. His wife Pansy preceded him in death in 2004. Perry enjoyed growing roses and being with family.

Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include his daughter – Newana Lea and husband Robert of Tulsa; a grandson Robert Perry Lea and wife Marina of Dallas, TX; a great granddaughter Kassi Cox and husband Michael of Tulsa and two great great grandchildren Blakeley and Boston. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 4pm – 6pm at Mowery Funeral Service. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Thursday, June 27, 2013 in the Chapel of Mowery Funeral Service with Rev. Bob Atwood officiating. Burial will be in the Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
