Jimmie “Jim” Lee Coley was born on September 2, 1936, in Union City, Oklahoma to Joe Wheeler Coley and Fannie Belle (Craig) Coley. He passed from this life on Thursday, September 1, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years. Jim was raised and educated in Minco, Oklahoma and graduated with the Minco High School Class of 1954. After high school Jim went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in education from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. He then enlisted and served his country honorably in the United States Army National Guard for twelve years and then the United States Air Force Reserves for three years. Jim was married on August 1, 1964, in Minco, Oklahoma to Sandra (Bass) Coley. He spent most of his working life as an educator and coach at Bristow High School, Greenville, Texas YMCA, Longview, Texas YMCA, and Moore High School. Jim was heavily involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He had been a faithful member of First Baptist Church Owasso since moving to the area in 2005. Jim enjoyed a variety of past times such as fishing, watching sports, and playing golf.
