She loved her family dearly and did whatever she could to take care of each and every one of them. Having a birthday on July 4th her family and friends always had a little more to celebrate. We enjoyed cookouts along with some homemade ice cream to celebrate Martha’s birthday. We also celebrated the beautiful light she was in the world and maybe even the little firecracker that she had in her.
Martha was a faithful member of Hilldale Baptist Church and spent many summers teaching Vacation Bible School. She and Don were active members of the early V8 Ford Club of Tulsa and spent many years traveling to various car shows. Martha enjoyed making beautiful quilts, gardening and spent many hours canning her harvest which she was so proud of. Most of all, Martha loved spending time with her family, playing cards, working puzzles and taking care of her grandbabies and great grandbabies. She was famous for her “Fry Days” which included fried chicken, fried okra, fried potatoes and anything else that could be fried. Martha had a gift for baking amazing yeast rolls, pecan pies and her Aunt Vi’s chocolate pie recipe. Whatever she was making it was made with love. Martha, we miss you dearly, but your memories and love will always be with us.
