Marlene Collette Duppong was born February 14, 1952, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Howard Jennings Daughenbaugh and Margaret Josephine Willoughby Daughenbaugh. She died Tuesday, July 2, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 72 years. Marlene was reared and educated in Des Moines and was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. She was married September 16, 1972, in Des Moines, to Robert “Bob” Duppong. Upon making there home in Oklahoma, Marlene became an active member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Owasso. She taught preschool from the 1980’s into the 1990’s, and was known as Miss Marlene. She was also involved with the Women’s Club of St. Henry’s.
Marlene loved taking care of her grandkids, who affectionately knew her as “Grandma”. She was well known for her famous sugar cookies and enjoyed making them for everyone and for every occasion, so much so, she was referred to as the Cookie Queen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Margaret Daughenbaugh, and siblings, Betty, Howard Jr., Charles, Roy, Gale, and Jimmy.
A visitation will be held starting at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary Prayer service will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Owasso. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at St. Henry Catholic Church. Committal service and interment will follow at St. Therese Catholic Cemetery in Collinsville, Oklahoma. A luncheon will be held immediately after interment at the Bamburgh Hall of St. Henry Catholic Church in Owasso. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Marlene’s memory to Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma, 2450 North Harvard Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74115, or https://cceok.org.
