Several threatening posts and warnings are circulating on social media throughout school districts in Oklahoma. In an effort to streamline responses and avoid duplication of resources, the Oklahoma School Security Institute (OSSI) is urging schools, students, parents, and law enforcement to report any threats through the ProtectOK app or by calling the OSSI tipline at (405) 425-7299.

OSSI is collaborating with the Oklahoma Counter Terrorism Intelligence Center (OCTIC) to analyze these threats. Information is being shared with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure thorough monitoring and investigation of all leads. While many of the threats this week have been traced to sources outside Oklahoma and have been deemed not credible, they continue to circulate and affect schools in the state. Reporting any suspicious activity or threats through the ProtectOK app remains crucial.

Authorities are urging the public not to repost or share threatening content before it has been investigated, to avoid unnecessary alarm. OSSI, OCTIC, and Oklahoma law enforcement are fully committed to the safety of students and staff, treating all threats with zero tolerance. If there is an immediate danger, the public is encouraged to call 911.
