Sue Ann Welborn was born on August 28, 1947, in Holton, Kansas to Orville Bryan and Helen (Medlock) Bryan. She passed from this life on Saturday, November 2, 2024, in Owasso, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years. Sue was raised by her grandparents, Emmett and Mary Medlock, in Valley Falls, Kansas and graduated with the Valley Falls High School Class of 1965. She spent most of her working life as an accountant with various government entities such as the United States Air Force, Postal Service, Coast Guard Pay and Personnel Center, and the Army Corps of Engineers. Sue was a longtime faithful member of First Christian Church in Valley Falls since 1957. She earned a certificate from Clark’s School of Business, Topeka, KS in 1966 and completed an associate’s degree from Highland Community College in Highland, Kansas in 1997. After retiring, she lived in Chandler, Texas for several years.
She is survived by her son, Brian Welborn and wife Melissa, and granddaughters Kendall Welborn and Addison Welborn all of Owasso, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her brother Bruce Timmons and wife Inez of San Antonio, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Emmett and Mary, parents, Orville and Helen, sister, Kathleen, and her brother, Gary.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the Valley Falls United Methodist Church. A private burial will be at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 1:00-2:00 at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sue’s memory to Seasons Hospice, 6532 E. 71st. St., Tulsa, OK 74133.
