Tilda Ann Simmons was born August 8, 1937, in Walcott, Arkansas to Ermer Franklin Newsom and Stella O’Dell (Greenway) Newsom. She passed from this life on Sunday, January 26, 2025, in Owasso, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years. Tilda was raised and educated in Walcott and graduated with the Greene County Tech High School High School Class of 1956. She was married on July 14, 1966, to John Wesley Simmons, Jr. Tilda spent most of her working life in the home, raising her three children. Tilda was a longtime faithful member of Owasso Church of Christ. In her spare time, she enjoyed a variety of past times such as solving word search puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, volunteering in her church, and anything she could do to help others in the community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ermer and O’Dell, brothers, Moe, H.D., Jim, Harry, and Bill, and her sisters, Nina Ruth, Melba, Loretta.
