Gary Lynn Vaughn was born November 19, 1935, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Floyd Bert Vaughn and Robby McCallen Vaughn. He died Sunday, March 16, 2025, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 89 years. Gary completed his high school education in Fort Smith, Arkansas. After graduation he attended the University of Arkansas where he earned his Bachelor’s degree, then the University of Dallas earning his Master’s degree. Gary was married to Dixie June Starkey, who preceded him in death on September 10, 1988. He was later married to Minnie Ruth Butler Reavis on May 19, 1990, at the First Baptist Church in Collinsville, Oklahoma. Gary spent most of his professional career with Boeing, formerly McDonnell- Douglas, as an aircraft engineer, as well as helping with overseas surveillance with E Systems. He worked on the first presidential airplane, Air Force One. He was also involved in the production of the Apollo Moon landing.
Gary was a member of First Baptist Church in Collinsville. He was also a member of the radio-controlled flying club, the Tulsa Glue Dobbers.

Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, Oklahoma, with Pastor Tim Prock officiating.
