Daniel David Draper III, resident of Owasso passed away October 19, 2013 at the age of 42. Dan was born August 4, 1971 and was the son of Daniel David Draper, Jr. and Mary Lee Hert Draper. He grew up in Stillwater, OK and was a 1989 graduate of Stillwater High School. Dan received his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. He attended theUniversity of Oklahoma and earned a Master’s degree inBusiness Administration and continued his education at the University of Tulsa, where he graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree. Before moving to Owasso and establishing his own law practice, he was employed by Rhodes, Hieronymus law firm in Tulsa. He was a member of the Oklahoma State Bar Association and was registered as a Super Oklahoma Lawyer. On June 8, 1996, Dan was united in marriage to Ashley Day and to this union, three children were born. Dan was a wonderful father to Anna Elizabeth, Sterling Daniel and Caroline Rose Draper, all of Owasso. He enjoyed participating in the children’s activities and took pride in their many accomplishments. He also enjoyed the study of astronomy, was an avid runner and a member of Destiny Life Church.

Dan is survived by his mother, Mary Lee Hert Draper of Stillwater, OK; his children; a sister Cherie Lean Draper of Albuquerque, NM, his maternal grandmother Lillie Lee Hert of Stillwater, Uncle Robert L. Hert, Jr. and his wife Joan of Stillwater, Aunt Martha Lyon and Uncle Don of Perkins, OK and several cousins. Dan was preceded in death by his father, paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather.

An opportunity to visit with the family was held Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 4pm – 7pm at Mowery Funeral Service. Messages for the family may be left on the electronic guestbook www.moweryfs.com. Dan was laid to rest on Thursday, October 24th at 10:00 AM at the Perkins Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service was held at 3:00 PM at the Destiny Life Church, 14003 E. 116th Street North, Collinsville, OK. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Oxley Nature Center-Red Bud Valley 5701 East 36th Street North, Tulsa, OK 74115. Services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
