John Randall Carter
On 06/23/2015, at approximately 6:45PM, Owasso Officers were dispatched to a shooting reported in the Lake Valley neighborhood near the 15100 block of E 108 PL N. Officers located a 38 year old man with two gunshot wounds to his abdomen outside a residence in the area. The adult suspect was also located in the area and he was taken into custody by the responding officers. A .45 caliber semiautomatic handgun was recovered and it is believed to be the weapon used in the shooting.
Owasso Detectives are currently processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses. Although the investigation is in its initial stages, early indicators suggest that this was an argument between family members which escalated into a physical altercation and resulted in one family member shooting the other.
The suspect has been identified as John Randall Carter (Age 56) of Owasso. He was arrested on the charge of Shooting with Intent to Kill and will be transported to the Tulsa County Jail.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Tulsa. His condition is unknown at this time. The victim’s identity is not being releases at this time.
