Road Conditions Update 11-27-15 – 11 a.m.
ODOT crews treating slick highways and bridges in western Oklahoma; Travel discouraged in northwestern Oklahoma
Highways remain slick and hazardous in the Panhandle and northwestern Oklahoma, including Woodward and surrounding areas, due to freezing precipitation. Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews are treating highways and bridges with salt and sand in these areas and travel is discouraged.
In western Oklahoma, including I-40 in Beckham County, crews are reporting wet roadways with slick spots on bridge due to freezing precipitation. Highways in Caddo, Jackson and Kiowa counties are slick due to sleet and freezing rain.
Roadways are wet in Garfield, Grant, Kay and Kingfisher counties and crews continue to treat highway bridges in these areas. Crews are also monitoring conditions in other areas of north-central Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City metro area.
If travel is necessary, drivers are urged to use caution, especially on bridges, overpasses and when entering or exiting highways as freezing temperatures may continue causing slick spots to develop on wet roadways. Drivers should stay at least 200 ft. behind road clearing trucks and equipment and not attempt to pass.

If drivers must travel out of state they are urged to check area road conditions before heading out.
