Armelda Deane Gann, age 81 of Tulsa, went to be with her Lord Friday, October 11, 2013 at the Wildwood Care Center. Armelda was born March 24, 1932 at Westville, OK to Mack McClellan and Rosa Ellen Irene (Hamilton) Estep. She was raised and received her education in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. On July 16, 1953, she and Charles Gann, JR were united in marriage in Bentonville, Arkansas. To this union, six children were born. They moved to Oklahoma were they raised their children. Armelda worked for many years as a manager for Braum’s Dairy Stores. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking anddecorating cakes, quilting andpainting. But family and her God were priorities in life. On March 13, 2013, the love of her life – Charles passed away. They had been married for 59 years. Armelda was a member of the Cornerstone Free Will Baptist Church (formerly Northside) for over 50 years.
Those that survive include her six children – Charles Gann and wife Karen of Ozark, AL, Michael Gann and wife Ingrid of Enterprise, AL, JoAnn Edwards and husband Paul of Collinsville, OK, Vicki Bono of Tulsa, Connie Stewart and husband Phil of Owasso and Pamela Rarick and husband Tim of Yelm, WA; three sisters Melva McGehee and husband J.B., Virgie Jones and husband Bill all of Claremore, OK, and Kitty Usher of Shreveport, LA. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren with another due in April of 2014 and 5 great great grandchildren. Besides her husband, Armelda was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, 3 sisters and a great grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM – Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Cornerstone Free Will Baptist Church, 7770 N. Whirlpool Drive, west of Owasso with Dr. Curtis Linton and her son Dr. Charles W. Gann officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery, Owasso. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 15th from 4pm – 8pm at Mowery Funeral Service.
