What medications are best for treating PCOS?
Answer:
PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) is a disorder in which a patient has hypoandrogenism (increased levels of male hormones), ovarian dysfunction and polycystic ovaries (ovaries containing many cysts). The recommended first line treatment is low-dose combined oral contraceptives. Other options used in the treatment of PCOS include weight loss and insulin sensitizing agents.
