Question:
How often should sunscreen be applied while you’re outside?
Answer:
For most people, sunscreen should be reapplied about every two hours. People with lighter skin tones may need to reapply as often as every hour. It is also important to apply the initial layer 20 to 30 minutes prior to sun exposure or swimming. You may also need to apply more frequently during the peak sunlight hours of 12 to 4 PM.
