Berta Lina Martinez was born on October 16, 1926, in Caicedo, Colombia to Ruperto Martinez and Maria Indalecia Ruiz. She passed from this life on Monday, May 8, 2023, at her home Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age 96. She was married on April 15, 1945, to Jose Maria Rueda. Berta spent most of her working life in the home raising her ten children. In her spare time, she enjoyed a variety of past times such as reading, sewing, and gardening.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Father Ernesto Calvillo officiating.
