Betty Jean Buttress was born September 15, 1944, in Hayes, Kansas to James Dot White and Mary Elizabeth (Pryce) White. She died Thursday, October 1, 2020, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 76 years. She was raised and educated in Fremont, California and graduated with the Irvington High School Class of 1962. Betty was married on August 31, 1962 in Fremont to David Leon Buttress. She spent most of her working life as a secretary with Jetstream in Hayward, California for 18 years and for Ohlone College in Fremont for 10 years. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes such as traveling to Reno and Las Vegas, reading, and crocheting, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
