Betty Jeane Thompson was born October 15, 1923, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Arthur Lee and Ora Chastain Williams. She died Wednesday, January 18, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 93 years. Betty was reared and educated in Tulsa and graduated with the Central High School Class of 1941. She was married April 20, 1956, in Tulsa, to Henry Thompson. Betty spent most of her working life as a dental hygienist. She had been a longtime faithful member of Westport Mennonite Brethren Church before becoming active with Friendship Baptist Church in Owasso. She had been a member of the Elks Lodge Local #946 in Tulsa. Betty enjoyed a variety of pastimes including dancing, such as clogging and the waltz, as well as singing. She also enjoyed baking bread and was well known for her exquisite work in making porcelain dolls.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2017, at Friendship Baptist Church in Owasso with Pastor Loran McAlister officiating. Committal services and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
