Betty Joyce Masingale was born April 12, 1931, at Rusk, Texas, to T.O. and Ila Farrow Burk. She died Tuesday, October 22, 2013, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years. Betty was married June 12, 1948, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Howard Masingale. They had made their home in the Owasso area since 1965. She spent much of her working life as a department manager with Wal-Mart. Betty was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Owasso. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including sewing, gardening, and cooking. She also spent time in her personal daily devotionals.

She was preceded by her parents, two brothers, Thomas Burk and Maurice Burk, and one sister, Geneva Burk Gillard.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 25, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Owasso with Pastor Chad Balthrop officiating. Serving as casket bearers were Brandon Masingale, Brian Masingale, Cameron Masingale, Austin Robinson, Andrew Tipton, and Bryan Eckes. Committal services and interment followed at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Baptist Mission Fund, c/o Owasso First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1020, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
