She died Sunday, October 28, 2018, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 88 years. Betty was reared and completed her education in Tulsa. She fell in love with Willard Jackson “Pete” Nunley at the age of 16 and they were married shortly after her 17th birthday on October 25, 1947 in Tulsa. She spent most of her working life as a homemaker with her priority first and foremost caring for her family. Her goal was always to provide a loving home for her children and her husband. She never missed one of her children’s baseball games, wrestling matches, or drill team performances. Betty had simple pleasures in life. She loved camping at Flint Creek and vacationing at Padre Island with Pete and her sisters and their husbands. She always wanted to look beautiful for Pete, going to the beauty shop every Friday and shopping at Kohl’s for blouses. She called herself a “TOPoholic”. She loved her dogs, especially good ole Buddy! She had been a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Owasso and then later First Christian Church in Owasso. Betty enjoyed a variety of pastimes including bowling.
