Beulah Grace Pirtle, resident of Owasso, passed away Saturday evening at the age of 84. Beulah was born March 23, 1929 at Seymour, Missouri to Leonard Lee and Martha Marie (Hale) Oliver. She spent her early years in Missouri before the family moved to Tulsa where Beulah graduated from Central High School. In 1947, she was united in marriage to Charles L. Pirtle in a Tulsa ceremony. Beulah made her home in Tulsa until two years after the death of her husband when she moved to Owasso. She was a member of Rejoice Church and active in the Women’s Auxiliary. Beulah enjoyed cooking, sewing and playing video and tablegames. Beulah was considered by her family to be a “Dyed in the wool Democrat”. For many years, she took care of children in her home.
Those that survive include her children – Leonard Pirtle and wife Carolyn, Vicki Campbell and Traci Jones and husband Tim all of Owasso; a brother Donald Oliver and wife Joan of Owasso, two sisters Geraldine Kaase and husband Jerry of Owasso and Velma Curtis of Tulsa. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren – Leslie Hickey, Lisa Meek, Jason Pirtle, Jennifer Collins, Erin Latta, Jeffrey Jones, Linzi Hightower, Bradley Jones and Randall Jones; as well a 13 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Beulah was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Billy Oliver.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Mowery Funeral Service with her son Leonard officiating. Private burial will be next to her husband in the Rose Hill Memorial Park in Tulsa.
