Billie Jean Slaughter was born on March 15, 1953, in Vinita, Oklahoma to William “Bill” Reed and Wilma Jean (Parnell) Scott. She passed from this life on Monday, January 24, 2022, in Vinita, Oklahoma at the age of 68 years. Billie was raised and educated in Vinita and later earned her GED at Claremore Junior College. Billie was married on September 18, 1978, to Glen Ray Slaughter. She spent most of her working life as Assistant Manager at Conoco Phillips, then retiring to help take care of her grandchildren. Billie was a longtime faithful member of Segeeyah Baptist Church in Claremore, Oklahoma. She enjoyed a variety of past times such as scrapbooking and crafting, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bill, brother, William, and her sister, Sammie.
Visitation will be held form 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Linzy Slayden officiating.
