Bonnie Ruth Pope was born November 8, 1940, in Kirksville, Missouri, to Frank Herman and Eunice Edna Wilson Griswold. She died Thursday, January 5, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 76 years. Bonnie was reared and educated in Kirksville and graduated with the Kirksville High School Class of 1958. She was married October 22, 1960, in Kirksville to Jimmie Neal Pope. They had made their home in Owasso, Oklahoma, since 1983. She also became a faithful member of Owasso Free Will Baptist Church, now Rejoice Church. Bonnie spent most of her working life as an accounts receivable’s bookkeeper with Ridgeways in Tulsa which later became ARC. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes, especially quilting, but most important was her time spent with family, particularly grandkids and great grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Ruth Ann Pope, and two brothers.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2017, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:30 Monday, January 9, 2017, at Rejoice Church in Owasso with Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be James Jones, Charlie Stapleton, Bob Lewis, Joe Romero, Jerry Kaase, and Kenny Hall. Committal service and interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Bonnie’s name to Rejoice Church Early Childhood Ministry, 13413 East 106th Street North, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
