From the City of Owasso
With election season coming up, now is a good time to remind our citizens about the rules for campaign signage.
-Campaign signage is never allowed within the City right-of-way, along/within roadways or on any public property. Signage placed illegally within these areas will be removed.
-Campaign signage is not allowed on any property until 6 weeks prior to an election. For the November 8 election, signage cannot be placed on private property until September 27.
-Campaign signage cannot be larger than 16 square feet.
-Campaign signage can only be placed on private property with consent of the owner.
-For homeowners and businesses, property lines are typically behind the sidewalk, so keeping your signage behind the sidewalk on your property is a good rule of thumb to make sure your signage is in the right place.
