Penn & Teller bring their comedic magic act to Tulsa on April 24
Comedic illusionists to perform at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa
TULSA, Okla. – For nearly 40 years, Penn & Teller have been redefining the genre of magic and inventing their own distinct niche in comedy. On April 24, the legendary comedic illusionists are performing at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa.
Tickets start at $45 and go on sale Feb. 12.
With sold-out runs on Broadway, world tours, the Emmy-winning television special “Penn & Teller Go Public” and hundreds of outrageous appearances on numerous television shows, comedy’s only team shows no signs of slowing down.
The duo currently has two series airing on television: “Penn & Teller: Fool Us!” for The CW, which up-and-comers and magic veterans try to fool Penn & Teller for a chance to star in the duos’ hit Las Vegas stage show, and as judges on SyFy’s Wizard Wars, where magicians are tasked with preparing a magic performance from ordinary everyday objects.
When they are not touring or appearing on television, Penn & Teller continue to perform at The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Their work has earned them seven wins as “Las Vegas Magicians of the Year.” Their 14-year run of shows has made them one of the longest-running acts in Las Vegas history, outselling every other magician on The Strip.
Teller rarely speaks in performance, relying on Penn to be the storyteller throughout the numerous magic tricks that include catching bullets with their teeth, hanging upside down over a cushion of spikes in a straightjacket, using a nail gun to shoot nails through their hands, and a modern take of the sack escape that involves Teller escaping a balloon filled with helium.
The dynamic duo can be seen performing tricks and playing small roles on numerous hit television shows, including “The Tonight Show,” “Saturday Night Live,” “The Simpsons,” “Home Improvement,” “The Drew Carey Show” and “West Wing.” They have also authored three New York Times bestsellers and produced the critically acclaimed documentary “Tim’s Vermeer,” which was nominated for a BAFTA and shortlisted for the 2014 Oscars.
