Cory Dean Burke, resident of Glenpool, OK passed from this life on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at his home. He was 36 years of age. Cory was born April 22, 1980 in Springdale, Arkansas, the son of Larry Dean and Teresa Deanne (Brady) Burke. He was raised and received his education in Bentonville, Arkansas, graduating high school there. Cory enlisted in the US Army where he honorably served his country. After his discharge from the military, Cory returned to northwest Arkansas and worked as a police officer in Rogers, AR. He later moved first to Broken Arrow, OK and then Tulsa/Glenpool where he worked as a sub-contractor of tile flooring for Robinett Floor Co. of Jay, OK. He also owned his own business called DJ-Cory B Entertainment. Cory was very athletic and played football for the Oklahoma Thunder Football Team for three years; besides entertaining he also enjoyed dancing. He attended Victory Christian Center of Tulsa.
Those that survive include his daughter – Natalie Nicole Burke of Glenpool; his parents Larry D. Burke of Snow, OK and his mother Teresa Thompson of Bentonville, AR. Also surviving are two sisters Nicole Cheri Burke of Rogers, AR, Crystal Gayle O’Dell of Bentonville, AR, a half-sister Stephanie Milam of Little Rock, AR and numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends. Cory was preceded in death by a daughter Sofia Elizabeth Burke.
Funeral services for Cory will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 6, 2016 in the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel, Owasso, OK. He will be laid to rest next to his daughter in the Bentonville Cemetery, Bentonville, AR. Services have been entrusted to the Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso. www.moweryfs.com
