Daniel Edward DeMoss, resident of Owasso, passed away Wednesday evening, February 5, 2014 at the age of 57. Daniel was born August 17, 1956 in Claremore, OK to Edward M. and Helen F. (Findley) DeMoss. Growing up in Claremore, he was a graduate of the high school class of 1974. Daniel then attended what was then Okmulgee Technical School for two years. On July 24, 1982, Daniel was united in marriage to Barbara (Barbie) Hendrix at Hope, Arkansas. They established their first home in Tulsa, moving to Owasso in 1987. Daniel was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Owasso and a member of Pipefitter’s Local Union #430. Daniel was a family man first and foremost, but did enjoy a passion for fishing and “OU Sooner Football”.
Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include his wife Barbie; and two sons – Matthew Daniel DeMoss of Falls Church, Virginia and Brandon Lloyd DeMoss of Tulsa. His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 4:15 pm in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church, Owasso with Pastor Chuck Horton officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Friday, February 14th. There will be no visitation. The family has requested that those that would like to honor Daniel’s memory may do so by contributing to a fund at First United Methodist Church, 13800 East 106th Street North, Owasso, OK 74055.
