Darius-Rucker-225x300

TULSA, Okla. – For nearly five years, rocker-turned-country singer Darius Rucker has been a staple on country radio with numerous hits and as a live draw in sold-out venues. On March 8, Rucker will perform at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa.

Tickets start at $50 and go on sale Jan. 24.

Rucker made his country debut with 2008’s “Learn to Live,” which produced the three consecutive No. 1 singles “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It,” “It Won’t Be Like This for Long” and “Alright.” The debut also included the hit single “History in the Making.”

The Charleston, S.C., native followed his hit debut with 2010’s “Charleston, SC 1966,” which featured the No. 1 singles “Come Back Song” and “This.”

Rucker’s next release is slated for June. The title track, “True Believers,” was the album’s lead-off single in the fall of 2012. On Jan. 7, Rucker released his latest single, “Wagon Wheel,” which is a cover of a Bob Dylan demo completed and recorded by Old Crow Medicine Show in 2003.

During his short country career, Rucker has earned numerous awards and accolades. In 2009, he became the first African American to win the Country Music Association New Artist of the Year award since its inception in 1981. In 2012, Rucker was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.
The 46-year-old broke into the national music scene as lead singer and guitarist for Hootie & The Blowfish, which produced five studio albums and charted 16 singles. The band’s 1995 debut “Cracked Rear View” is the 15th best-selling album of all time in the U.S. and helped earn the band the 1996 Grammy for Best New Artist.
