Delta Hamlin, age 90 of Owasso, OK passed away peacefully early Friday morning at Sequoyah Pointe Living Center in Owasso. She was born May 24, 1925 in Coffeyville, KS to Bert & Mable (Whipple) Steger.
Delta grew up, attended and graduated from Coffeyville Schools. She met and married William Lewis Sprague, Jr. September 8, 1946 in Coffeyville, KS. Two daughters were born to this union. After this union was dissolved, Delta met and married Carl Hamlin in 1978, and remained until his passing. She moved to Springfield, MO for a while, but considered Coffeyville, KS her hometown. When her health began to fail her, she moved to Oklahoma to be closer to her daughter Patricia so she could help look after her. She spent the last eight years residing at Grace Living Center in Jenks, OK.
Delta was a longtime member of the Coffeyville 1st Assembly of God church where she served as the Nursery class teacher for more than twenty years, played Saxophone in the church orchestra. Some of Delta’s hobbies include shopping, eating out, going to garage sales, collecting miniature figurines and trains, and playing Rummikub. She also enjoyed a good cup of coffee, Chevy cars, and being a faithful homemaker.

Two Daughters: Lynda May Sprague/Stites & Chad Stites of Lakeworth, FL.
Patricia Ann Worthan & husband Terry of Skiatook, OK.
Six Grandchildren: Chalyn Brook Webster, Chase Hunter Stites, Cole Hayden Stites, Jennifer Marie Sullivan, and Jeannette Nicole Brown.
Four Great Grandchildren: Addison Lynn Brown, Mia Marie Brown, Jonah Michael Brown, and
Robert Paul Sullivan “Sulley”.
One Brother: Dean Steger of Strongsville, OH.
Several Nieces and a host of friends.
Delta was preceded in death by her Parents; Bert E. & Mable Mae (Whipple) Steger. Two spouses; William Lewis Sprague, Jr. and Carl Hamlin. Granddaughter Melissa Lynn Stites-Wolfe. Infant sister Jessie Mae, and one brother Kenneth Steger.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the following charities:
Cystic Fibrosis foundation, Breast Cancer research, Autism awareness, and Alzheimer’s research.
Memorial Celebration for Delta are scheduled for 3PM Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Discovery Bible Fellowship Church with Pastor Mike Frantz officiating.
