Dixie Lee Maxwell was born on March 12, 1948, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Vernon Lee Odom and Shirley Jeanne (Madsen) Odom. She passed from this life on Saturday, March 8, 2025, in Owasso, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years. Dixie was raised and educated in Tulsa and graduated with the McLain High School Class of 1966. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in business from Northeastern State University. Dixie was married on May 17, 1969, in Tulsa to Michael Edward Maxwell. She spent most of her working life as the Secretary, Treasurer, and CFO of M. E. Maxwell Enterprises. Dixie was a longtime faithful member of Central Baptist Church in Owasso. She had a servant’s heart and spent much of her time working for First Baptist Church Owasso’s Mother’s Day Out and volunteering with Meals on Wheels. Dixie loved reading and writing and had three self-published books. In her spare time, she enjoyed a variety of past times such as tending to her flower garden and caring for various animals, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Shirley Odom, and her brother, John Odom.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Reverend Kevin Laufer officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Owasso. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Dixie’s memory to, Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief, 3800 North May Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73112.
