Donna Lynn Wood was born February 7, 1952, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Boyd Wiley Jones and Nora Elmina Maner Jones. She died Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 73 years. Donna completed her secondary education in Tulsa and graduated with the Will Rogers High School Class of 1970. She was married January 3, 1970, in Tulsa to John Leroy Wood.
Donna spent some of her working life as teachers assistant with Oologah Public Schools, but was primarily a homemaker caring for her family. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes, but was not just a sit at home woman. She loved to take day trips and travel, but did not like to fly. She loved shopping, the occasional casino trips, and most importantly mowing the yard on her John Deere. Donna dearly loved her family and was affectionately known as “Granny” to her grandchildren.

Those she leaves behind who hold a lifetime of cherished memories include:
Son; Luke Wood and wife Sarah, of Talala, Oklahoma
Daughter; Carrie Wood, of Owasso, Oklahoma
Grandchildren; Jeffrey, Jared, Amanda, Jaimi, Kodi, Laci, Madison, Bronc, and Kyleigh
Nine great grandchildren
Brother; Bill Jones and wife Kathy, of Claremore, Oklahoma
And a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and her extended family from Louisiana, the Fountains.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Nora Jones, husband, John Wood, and brother, Darrell Jones.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 on Monday, March 10, 2025, in the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Bill Jones, Tim Jones, Justin Woodworth, Gene Woodworth, Brandon Wood, Brad Wood, and Billy Wood. Committal service and interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Talala, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Donna’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105, or www.stjude.org. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
