Edgar “Roy” Stiner was born on July 26, 1938, in Shidler, Oklahoma to Rex Clint Stiner and Edith Lenore (Clark) Stiner. He died on Thursday, February 24, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years. Roy was raised and educated in Tulsa and graduated with the Will Rogers High School Class of 1956. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Oklahoma and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tulsa. Roy spent most of his working life as a mechanical engineer with Zebco in Tulsa for over 30 years. He was married to JoAnn Rogers, Gail Bassham, and then on October 19, 1998, to Melba Zelikovitz (Draper) Stiner. Roy was a veteran with the United Sates Army National Guard. He was a longtime faithful member of First Christian Church in Owasso and had most recently been attending Eastwood Baptist Church in Tulsa. Roy had his pilot’s license and volunteered with “Angel Flight” for 20 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed a variety of past times such as hunting, fishing, and flying.
