Edward E. “Gene” Jones was born on May 7, 1932 in Vinita, Oklahoma to Raymond “Bill” Jones and Catherine “Kate” (Hart) Jones. He died on Monday, December 28, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years. Gene was raised and educated in White Oak, Oklahoma and graduated with the White Oak High School Class of 1951.He then enlisted in the United States army where he proudly served his country honorably as a Tank Operator. Gene was married on May 21, 1956 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Hertha Olive (Ramey) Jones. He spent most of his working life as a cement truck driver with McMichael’s Concrete in Tulsa for 20 years and with Mid-Continent Concrete in Catoosa for 30 years. Gene was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church in Owasso for over 30 years. He enjoyed a variety of past times such as spending time with family and friends, but especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Kate, wife, Hertha, 2 daughters, Cheryl and Deborah, son, David, 2 sisters, Ruth and Kappy, brother, Raymond, and great grandson, Lucas.
